Local Commons Survey Project
March 19, 2006 at 11:29 pm | In transportation, the Commons, humanize, open space, Chicago |Just had a great phone call with Josh Skov of Eugene, OR about the Local Commons Survey Project. Our next step would be to have a first meeting, say the 1st week in April. Between now and then, I’d love to figure out if there are people or organizzations we can invite to take part. The cool thing about this pilot is that its fairly open and we can define our task to match our capabilities. We can also choose a few Commons that interest us in particular. I’d really like to make every effort to be inclusive and not be the new white guy project. So if you’re interested in working with me to make this happen, let’s talk soon and I can give more details about what I’m thinking and see how we can invite others to participate.

Do you start really local, or how broad is the scope?

Depends on the place. In our case, we’re going to use the Little Village neighborhood, which has well-defined boundries and community groups with the same catchment area.
